How much does an electric conversion cost?

The costs of conversions have reduced drastically in the last few years. It is possible to convert your quad bike from as little at £5,500 with Somerset EV.

Why should I convert my quad bike to electric?

An electric quad is silent, economical, almost maintenance free and better for the environment. Converting your old quad bike to electric can be the most economical way to replace an ageing machine.

Won't it run out of power in 30 minutes?

A common misconception of battery electric vehicles is that they have poor range. Our demonstrator bike has a 4.4kWh battery, which has given us around 30 miles of range at road speeds. For low speed use around the fields or farm, you can expect around 6 hours of continuous movement.

How much does it cost to run?

The cost to fully recharge our demonstrator battery is around 66p at the average energy tariff prices. Electric motors require no oil changes, filter changes or servicing.

But batteries lose capacity over time, will it have no range in a years time?

Lithium Ion batteries will lose capacity over time. However modern cells are usually rated to around 2,000 full discharge and recharge cycles before they reduce to around 80% of the original capacity. So even if you were to ride your electric quad 6 full hours a day every day, you would still be able to go 80% of your original range after 5 years.
